One Last Song: The Final Photos Of 16 Musicians Who Died Too Young.

16. Keith Moon

23 August 1946 – 7 September 1978 (age 32)

Keith Moon is best known for being the legendary drummer of The Who; with his unique drumming style and his often eccentric behaviour.

The quintessential rock and roller, Moon loved nothing more than destroying hotel rooms and blowing up television sets. Unfortunately, like many rock stars, Moon became addicted to alcohol and in 1978 he died from an overdose of Heminevrin, a drug he had been taking to help him curb his alcohol abuse.

The last picture of Moon was taken the night before he died, when he was a guest of Paul and Linda McCartney at a preview of the film ‘The Buddy Holly Story’. A true rock star to the end, Moon’s last words were ‘If you don’t like it, you can f*** off!’.

As last words go, they are pretty hard to beat.
