13. Hawthorne Hotel, US
Several high profile guests have been resident at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, Massachsetts over the years, including former US president George Bush and his wife Barbara. It is said that the ghost of a woman roams the haul outside Room 612 and residents have reported paranormal activity including missing keys and water taps and lights turning on by themselves.
14. The Carolina Inn, US
The Carolina Inn’s resident ghost is former guest Dr Jacocks, who has been sighted wearing a long blue coat and wandering the halls. Guests have also reported hearing ghostly footsteps in empty rooms.
15. Grand Hyatt Hotel, Taiwan
This luxurious hotel in Taipei was built over a former wartime political prison and is said to be haunted by the ghosts of several executed inmates. Sacred scrolls and a Chinese sutra have been placed in the hotel’s lobby to try and ward off the many wandering spirits. So far they have been unsuccessful.
