The Jekyll Island Club in Georgia was home to many wealthy Americans, one of which was banker JP Morgan. Morgan was well known in the hotel for smoking his favourite cigar every morning at 5am in the annex and to this day guests report smelling cigar smoke at the same time each day.

Since opening in 1907 The Stanley Hotel in Colorado has been a hotbed of paranormal activity. One of the most famous stories is of former housekeeper Elisabeth Wilson, who died at the hotel in 1911 and is said to regularly return to room 217 and unpack and store away guest’s belongings. Other guests have reported hearing the sound of children running and giggling in the halls, while the ghosts of the hotels original owners, Mr and Mrs Stanley are said to regularly pass through the hotel’s lobby. Some residents claim to have heard Mrs Stanley playing the piano in the music room.
