Kyle Schwartz asked the third graders in her class at Doull Elementery to finish this sentence: –
“I wish my teacher knew…”
While many of the answers are extremely moving, this one, which says ‘I wish my teacher knew I don’t have friend to play with me’ is particularly hard to read and anyone who has ever felt alone will strongly identify with it.
Ms Schwartz told Metro that she wanted to build trust with her class and learn something about them, and says she was blown away by the response.
Since the notes were shared online, other teachers around the world have taken to twitter to show their support for Ms Schwartz and her children – tweeting their own messages using the hashtag #IWishMyTeacherKnew.
